Privacy

I have separately set out my confidentiality provisions.

I also want to be entirely clear about how you can expect any data in connection with browsing this site to be treated.

Using the Contact Form

In an attempt to block spam and stop other spurious messages which are sent to me through the contact form, I use Mollom, an email filtering service which will analyze your IP address, email address, and the content of the message in order to determine whether the message is likely to be spam.

Any message determined to be spam will be deleted and any message determined not to be spam will be forwarded to me.  If the algorithm cannot determine whether the message is spam or not, you will be asked to complete a captcha in order to prove that the message is being sent from a real human being.

By sending me a message you accept that the content and personal details about you will be analyzed and stored for anti-spam and quality monitoring purposes in accordance with Mollom's terms of service and their privacy policy.

Google Analytics

I use Google Analytics to track usage of this site.  From my perspective any usage is anonymized and cannot be traced back to an individual, however, as you can read in the Overview published by Google, this service uses cookies and tracks your IP address.  This service is provided by Google subject to their terms of service and their privacy policy.

Sharing

At the top of most pages you will find a row of buttons to share the page (through Twitter, Facebook, and so on).

From my perspective, no identifying or personal data is stored if you share a page. However, I use AddThis to track sharing and, like for Google Analytics, this service uses cookies and tracks your IP address. This service is provided by AddThis subject to their terms of service and their privacy policy.

Privacy beyond this Website

If you follow me, friend me, or similar through one of the social networks outside of this website, or interact with me through any public forum, then clearly that interaction and any communications through that channel may be public, and will be subject to the terms of that service.
